Sewer Scope
A sewer scope is an inspection process where a specialized camera is used to examine the condition of a property’s sewer line. The camera, attached to a long, flexible cable, is inserted into the sewer pipe through a cleanout or drain. It allows homeowners, plumbers, or inspectors to visually assess the sewer line for blockages, cracks, root intrusions, or any other damage that could affect the proper functioning of the drainage system.
Sewer scope inspections are commonly performed during real estate transactions to ensure the sewer line is in good condition and to avoid costly repairs after purchasing a property. They help detect hidden issues, such as leaks or deteriorated pipes, that could lead to sewer backups or water damage.
